Learning New Things As I Age

Learning New Things As I Age

There are certain benefits from learning as we go along. I read some where that we can plateau around that 30 - 40 year old milestone, eventually slipping more as we pass 60 years of age.

Learning new skills (in my case bagel baking) offers a combination of mental and physical skills that I never used prior. The goals of eating healthier, physical exercise, etc. pose opportunities to not only maintain but improve longevity.

For myself, learning multiple new skills also offers encouragement every time we sell our Mont Royal Bagels to our weekly guests. The same encouragement applies in many new skills, classes on photography, painting, music creation, etc. offers value to learn for functional independence and strength while we age.

It’s similar to taking a course (or better yet, courses weekly), I believe it expands the mind ultimately building the experiences annd increasing cognitive skills. The result, going out of your comfort zone resulting in a fearless factor further strengthening opportunity to age more gracefully.
